그룹 웨이션브이가 8월 10일 여덟 번째 미니 앨범 ’비전 윙스’를 냈습니다. 이 앨범에는 모두 일곱 곡이 담겼습니다. 타이틀곡 ’비전 윙스’는 중국 전통 악기 고쟁의 선율과 힙합이 어우러진 곡입니다. 앨범에는 타이틀곡의 중국어 버전과 영어 버전도 들어 있습니다. 웨이션브이는 9월 12일과 13일 서울 KBS아레나에서 단독 콘서트를 엽니다.

Translation

The group WayV put out its eighth mini album, 'Vision Wings', on August 10. Seven songs in all are included on this album. The title track, 'Vision Wings', is a song in which hip-hop blends with the melody of the guzheng, a traditional Chinese string instrument. The album also contains a Chinese version and an English version of the title track. WayV will hold solo concerts at KBS Arena in Seoul on September 12 and 13.

Grammar points

N와/과and (joining two nouns)

와/과 joins two nouns into one phrase, like 'and'. Use 과 after a noun ending in a consonant (선율과) and 와 after one ending in a vowel (친구와). It only links nouns — to join two sentences or verbs, Korean uses -고 instead. In speech you will also hear 하고 and 랑/이랑 for the same job.

Example: 저는 빵과 우유를 샀습니다.

I bought bread and milk.

This is the location particle 에 with the topic particle 는 added on top. 에 alone says where something is; adding 는 makes that place the topic of the sentence, often setting it against something else. 이 앨범에는 일곱 곡이 담겼습니다 means 'on THIS album, seven songs are included' — hinting that another album might differ.

Example: 이 가방에는 책이 세 권 있습니다.

도 means 'also' and replaces the subject or object particle rather than stacking after it — say 저도 (not 저는도) and 이것도 (not 이것을도). In the article, 중국어 버전과 영어 버전도 means those versions are on the album in addition to what was already mentioned.

Example: 동생도 학교에 갑니다.

My younger sibling goes to school too.
