Korea's Interior Ministry Launches Public Campaign and Video Contest on Illegal Structures in Rivers and Valleys

행정안전부가 7월 29일부터 8월 31일까지 하천과 계곡을 위한 국민 캠페인을 합니다. 이 캠페인의 목표는 그동안 불법시설을 없앤 결과를 국민에게 알려 주는 것입니다. 대표 행사는 짧은 영상 공모전인데, 누구나 하천이나 계곡이 달라진 모습을 30초에서 60초 길이의 영상으로 만들어서 낼 수 있습니다. 행정안전부는 이 가운데 다섯 작품을 뽑아 상금으로 모두 260만 원을 줍니다.

또 8월에는 하천과 계곡의 불법 행위를 신고하는 새 시스템을 처음으로 시험해 볼 예정입니다. 이 시스템이 만들어지면 사람들은 휴대전화로 그 자리에서 바로 신고할 수 있게 됩니다.

Translation

From July 29 to August 31, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety is running a public campaign for rivers and valleys. The goal of the campaign is to let the public know the results of removing illegal structures so far. Its main event is a short video contest, and anyone can make a video 30 to 60 seconds long showing how a river or valley has changed and submit it. The ministry will choose five entries from among them and give a total of 2.6 million won in prize money. Also, in August, it plans to try out a new system for reporting illegal activity in rivers and valleys for the first time. Once this system is built, people will be able to report on the spot with their mobile phones.
