This year's prices for non-covered treatments were published on September 3 on the website of the 건강보험심사평가원 and on its mobile app '건강e음'. The number of items published this year is 753, 60 more than last year's 693. For shockwave therapy, the price at one clinic in 경기도 was 70,000 won (the middle figure), while at one clinic in Seoul it was 175,000 won. Among the 593 items shared with last year, the average price rose for 73.5 percent of them. This system was created to protect the public's right to know and to help people make sensible choices about medical care.

보다 attaches to the noun being compared against, with no space. Korean puts the standard of comparison first and the difference after it, which is the reverse of English order: 693개보다 60개 늘었습니다 is literally 'compared with 693, it increased by 60'. Reports of figures use this constantly to set this year against last year.

N 가운데among N, out of N
가운데 follows a group to pick out a part of it, and is written with a space before it. It is interchangeable with N 중 here, but 가운데 is the native-Korean word and reads a little softer, so news writing often uses it when the group is a counted set. The part being picked out follows immediately after.

-기 위해 turns a verb into a purpose clause. -기 makes the verb into a noun, and 위하다 means 'to be for the sake of', so the whole reads 'for the sake of doing'. The 서 is optional and changes nothing. When the purpose is attached to a noun instead of a verb, the form is N을/를 위해.
