Of the 588 patients taken to hospital in Daegu after bee stings between 2023 and 2025, 411 of them, or 69.9 percent, were in July, August or September, and by monthly average September was the highest at 53. Over the same period, 17,813 of the 23,996 call-outs in Daegu to remove bee nests, or 74.2 percent, were also concentrated in July, August and September. The 소방청 stated that over the last three years 78.7 percent of bee-sting patients nationwide were concentrated in those three months, and that within them September had the most patients at 2,040. 이병진, head of the rescue team at the 대구소방안전본부, said that before starting grave-tending or farm work you must check whether there is a bee nest nearby, and that if you find one you should not remove it yourself but call 119.

It is the Sino-Korean counterpart of 가운데 and is shorter, so it is the usual choice when two figures are being packed into one clause.
