On October 8, the Korea Tourism Organization, together with the Korea Forest Service's National Arboretum, released the '2026 Foliage Map', which shows when autumn leaves will peak across the country and where the main spots are, on its '대한민국 구석구석' travel website. The map divides the country into six regions, gives the peak period for each, and introduces 36 places around the country recommended for autumn trips. The leaves are expected to peak from late October in the Seoul metropolitan area and Gangwon, and in early to mid-November in the Gyeongsang and Jeolla regions. This year's forecast used data observed directly by 829 citizen scientists. The recommended spots include Incheon Grand Park, the Goseokjeong tourist site in Cheorwon, Gangwon, Meta Provence in Damyang, South Jeolla, and Ttarabi Oreum in Seogwipo, Jeju.
