The hospital is meant to close a gap in medical care that had run for seven years in the southern part of 울주군. It starts with five departments — internal medicine, surgery, family medicine, radiology and anaesthesiology and pain medicine — and 55 beds. An orthopaedics department is to open in the middle of this month, a dialysis room is to start running at the end of it, and an emergency room is to operate from next month. In the end the hospital aims at up to eight departments and 100 beds, and plans to grow its staff from the present 77 people to as many as 148. 울주군 built the hospital and owns it, but 온그룹의료재단, a medical foundation, takes charge of managing and running it for five years.
