제주 만장굴 발견 80주년과 부종휴 선생 탄생 100주년을 기념하는 ’2026 세계유산축전-제주 화산섬과 용암동굴’이 10월 3일 막을 올립니다. 축전은 3일 오후 7시 30분 만장굴 특설무대의 기념식과 실경공연으로 시작해 18일까지 16일 동안 열립니다. 80년 전 만장굴을 세상에 알린 사람은 부종휴 선생과 ’꼬마탐험대’였습니다. 기념식에서는 꼬마탐험대의 도전 정신을 이어받은 ’세계유산 숨길원정대’의 출정식도 열립니다. 축전은 한라산 천연보호구역, 거문오름용암동굴계, 성산일출봉 응회구 일대에서 진행됩니다. 기간 중에는 워킹투어, 별빛산행, 일출투어 등 다양한 프로그램이 운영됩니다.

The '2026 World Heritage Festival – Jeju Volcanic Island and Lava Tubes', marking the 80th anniversary of the discovery of Jeju's Manjanggul Cave and the 100th anniversary of the birth of 부종휴, opens on October 3. It begins at 7:30 p.m. on the 3rd with a ceremony and an outdoor performance on a special stage at Manjanggul, and runs for 16 days until the 18th. The people who made Manjanggul known to the world 80 years ago were 부종휴 and the 'Little Explorers' (꼬마탐험대). At the ceremony, a send-off is also held for the World Heritage 'Sumgil' Expedition (세계유산 숨길원정대), whose members carry on the Little Explorers' spirit of challenge. The festival takes place around Hallasan Natural Reserve, the Geomunoreum Lava Tube System and Seongsan Ilchulbong Tuff Cone. During the festival, a variety of programs such as walking tours, starlight hikes and sunrise tours are run.
