국가데이터처는 8월 20일 ’2026년 상반기 지역별고용조사 시군구 주요고용지표’를 발표했습니다. 이 조사에서는 사는 지역 안에서 통근하는 취업자의 비중도 함께 나왔습니다. 9개 도 시지역에서는 전라남도 여수시가 98.1%, 충청남도 보령시가 97.6%로 높았습니다. 9개 도 군지역에서는 경상북도 울릉군이 100.0%, 전라남도 진도군이 99.0%였습니다. 7개 특광역시 구지역에서는 인천광역시 옹진군이 94.5%, 대구광역시 군위군이 93.6%였습니다. 같은 조사에서 9개 도 시지역의 취업자는 1427만 1천 명으로 전년 동기보다 9만 6천 명 늘었고, 7개 특광역시 구지역의 취업자는 1156만 5천 명으로 2만 5천 명 줄었습니다.

국가데이터처 released the 'first-half 2026 regional employment survey: main employment indicators by city, county and district' on August 20. The survey also shows the share of workers who commute within the area where they live. Among the city areas of the nine provinces, 여수시 in South Jeolla was high at 98.1 percent and 보령시 in South Chungcheong at 97.6 percent. Among the county areas of the nine provinces, 울릉군 in North Gyeongsang came to 100.0 percent and 진도군 in South Jeolla to 99.0 percent. Among the district areas of the seven metropolitan cities, 옹진군 in Incheon was 94.5 percent and 군위군 in Daegu 93.6 percent. In the same survey, workers in the city areas of the nine provinces numbered 14.271 million, up 96 thousand from the same period a year earlier, while workers in the district areas of the seven metropolitan cities numbered 11.565 million, down 25 thousand.

Grammar points
N보다than N, compared with N
N보다 marks what a figure is measured against and attaches straight to the noun. Korean puts it before the verb, the reverse of English: 전년 동기보다 늘었습니다 is literally 'than the same period last year, it increased.' In statistics the noun before 보다 is the baseline, so swapping it changes the claim entirely — 전년 동기보다 and 전 분기보다 are different statements about the same number.
Example: 9개 도 시지역의 취업자는 전년 동기보다 9만 6천 명 늘었습니다.

N도also N, N too
N도 adds something to what has already been said, and it replaces the subject or object particle rather than stacking on it — 비중도, never 비중이도. It is how a report signals that a second finding sits alongside the first: the survey gave employment figures, and 비중도 says the commuting share came with them. Its negative counterpart is N도 아니다.
Example: 이 조사에서는 사는 지역 안에서 통근하는 취업자의 비중도 함께 나왔습니다.

-았/었/였고did ... and (joining two past clauses)
-고 joins two clauses, and when the first one is in the past tense it becomes -았고 / -었고 / -였고 depending on the stem vowel. Statistical writing leans on it to set two matched figures side by side in one sentence — one region up, another down — without making either sound more important. Note that the tense is marked on the first clause too, unlike English, which would say 'rose ... and fell'.
Example: 시지역 취업자는 9만 6천 명 늘었고, 구지역 취업자는 2만 5천 명 줄었습니다.
Workers in city areas rose by 96 thousand, and workers in district areas fell by 25 thousand.
