한국소비자원은 지난 7월 1372소비자상담센터에 접수된 소비자상담이 5만 5226건으로 집계됐다고 8월 21일 밝혔습니다. 6월 5만 4801건보다 0.8% 늘었지만, 지난해 같은 달 6만 1994건보다는 10.9% 줄었습니다. 전월 대비 상담이 가장 많이 늘어난 품목은 매트로 422.5% 증가했습니다. 유아용 매트 커버에서 유해 성분이 나와 환경표지 인증이 취소되고 제조사가 자발적으로 리콜에 나서면서 교환과 환불 문의가 몰렸기 때문입니다. 복숭아 관련 상담도 전월보다 243.9% 늘었는데, 온라인에서 산 뒤 배송이 오래 늦어졌는데도 판매자와 연락이 되지 않거나 주문 취소가 처리되지 않았다는 내용이 많았습니다. 7월에 상담이 가장 많았던 품목은 헬스장으로 1323건이었습니다.

한국소비자원 announced on August 21 that consumer complaints received by the 1372 consumer counselling centre in July came to 55,226. That is 0.8 percent more than June's 54,801, but 10.9 percent fewer than the 61,994 in the same month last year. The item whose complaints rose most against the previous month was mats, up 422.5 percent. That is because harmful substances were found in the cover of a baby mat, its environmental certification was cancelled, and the maker started a voluntary recall, so enquiries about exchanges and refunds piled up. Complaints about peaches also rose 243.9 percent from the previous month; many said that after buying online, delivery was delayed for a long time and yet the seller could not be reached or the cancellation was not processed. The item with the most complaints in July was gyms, at 1,323 cases.

N 대비compared with N, against N
N 대비 names the baseline a figure is being measured against, and Korean statistical reporting uses it constantly: 전월 대비 (against the previous month), 전년 대비 (against last year), 전년 동월 대비 (against the same month last year). -기 때문이다 closes a sentence that explains the one before it. Note the position: unlike -기 때문에, which links cause and result inside a single sentence, this form puts the result first as its own sentence and then gives the reason in the next. News writing uses it to state a figure, stop, and then explain it — exactly what happens here with the 422.5 percent jump.
