Lee Soo-man, chief producer of A2O Entertainment, held a showcase at KINTEX in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, on October 12 and unveiled the 15-member boy group A2O SOUL and the nine-member girl group A2O LITE. Both groups debut on October 13 with digital singles. Lee's producing contract with SM ended in 2022, amid controversy including claims that he had steered work to his personal company. After that, when he sold his shares to HYBE, he signed a non-compete clause barring him from producing records or managing artists in Korea for three years. That agreement ended in February this year, and this is the first time he has officially returned to the Korean music market as a producer. A2O SOUL is made up of five Koreans, including members of Korean descent, and ten members from China, Japan and Thailand, while the average age of A2O LITE is 15.1.
