10월 9일은 한글날입니다. 행정안전부는 9일 오전 10시 서울 세종문화회관에서 580돌 한글날 경축식을 엽니다. 행사 주제는 ’내 곁에 한글’입니다. 행사에는 시민, 학생, 주한 외교단 등 1200여 명이 참석합니다. 한글을 널리 알리고 발전시킨 사람 10명이 정부 상을 받습니다. 한글 글꼴을 만드는 데 힘쓴 고(故) 석금호 전 산돌 이사회 의장에게도 훈장이 주어집니다.

Translation

October 9 is Hangul Day. At 10 a.m. on the 9th, 행정안전부 (the Ministry of the Interior and Safety) holds a ceremony for the 580th Hangul Day at the Sejong Center in Seoul. The theme of the event is 'Hangul by My Side'. About 1,200 people, including citizens, students and foreign diplomats in Korea, attend the event. Ten people who helped spread and develop Hangul receive government awards. Seok Geum-ho, the late former chairman of the board of Sandoll (산돌), receives a medal after his death for his work developing Hangul fonts.
