17일 오전 4시 25분께 거제시 옥포동의 한 아파트 뒷산에서 산사태가 발생해 토사가 1층과 주차장 등을 덮쳤습니다. 이 사고로 주민 1명이 숨지고 2명이 경상을 입었습니다. 오전 5시 5분께는 통영시 산양읍 곤리도에서도 산사태가 나 토사가 인근 주택을 덮쳤고, 하반신이 매몰된 60대 여성이 통영해경에 구조돼 경상 치료를 받았습니다. 15일 0시부터 17일 오후 4시까지 누적 강우량은 거제시 651.3㎜, 통영시 511.1㎜를 기록했습니다. 이번 호우로 거제와 통영, 사천 등 3개 시군에서 225가구 365명이 주민자치센터와 마을회관, 경로당 등 대피소로 대피했습니다. 정전 피해는 거제 장승포·고현·연초 일원 1500가구, 통영 산양읍·한산면 530가구 등 모두 2665가구였습니다. 17일 오후 4시 기준 소방활동은 인명구조 84건, 배수 181건, 대민지원 1199건 등 모두 1464건으로 집계됐습니다. 거제와 통영, 고성에 발효됐던 호우주의보는 17일 오후 5시 30분을 기해 해제됐습니다.

At about 4:25 a.m. on the 17th, a landslide came down from the hill behind an apartment building in Okpo-dong, Geoje, and earth buried the first floor and the car park. One resident was killed and two suffered minor injuries. At about 5:05 a.m., a landslide on the island of Gollido in Sanyang-eup, Tongyeong, buried a nearby house; a woman in her sixties, buried to the waist, was rescued by the Tongyeong coastguard and treated for minor injuries. Cumulative rainfall from midnight on the 15th to 4 p.m. on the 17th reached 651.3mm in Geoje and 511.1mm in Tongyeong. In this rain, 365 people from 225 households across the three municipalities of Geoje, Tongyeong and Sacheon evacuated to community centres, village halls and senior centres. Some 2,665 households lost power, 1,500 in the Jangseungpo, Gohyeon and Yeoncho areas of Geoje and 530 in Sanyang-eup and Hansan-myeon in Tongyeong. As of 4 p.m. on the 17th, fire services had carried out 1,464 operations in all, including 84 rescues, 181 drainage jobs and 1,199 assistance calls. The heavy rain advisory for Geoje, Tongyeong and Goseong was lifted as of 5:30 p.m. on the 17th.
