Some 700 Trillion Won in Crypto Has Left Korean Exchanges, With 5 Trillion Won in Fees Last Year Alone

국내 가상자산 거래소에서 해외로 빠져나간 가상자산이 2021년부터 올해까지 약 700조 원에 이른다는 분석이 나왔습니다. 웹3 리서치 회사 타이거리서치는 체이널리시스와 함께 국내외 약 500만 건의 거래소 연관 주소와 약 12만 개의 한국 사용자 추정 지갑을 분석한 결과라고 8월 12일 밝혔습니다. 지난해 한 해에만 약 168조 원이 해외로 유출됐고, 국내 투자자가 해외 거래소를 이용하며 낸 거래 수수료는 같은 해 약 5조 원으로 추정됩니다. 국내 투자자 추정 지갑에서 하이퍼리퀴드 등 탈중앙화 거래소에 들어간 돈은 누적 약 2조 4000억 원이고, 지난달 한 달 명목 거래대금은 7조 4000억 원에 달했습니다. 보고서는 해외에서 발생하는 수수료 5조 원 가운데 10%만 국내에서 발생해도 약 5000억 원의 매출로 이어진다고 분석했습니다.

Translation

An analysis has found that the crypto assets that left domestic exchanges for overseas between 2021 and this year come to about 700 trillion won. The Web3 research firm Tiger Research said on August 12 that it reached this figure jointly with Chainalysis, by analysing roughly 5 million exchange-linked addresses at home and abroad and about 120,000 wallets estimated to belong to Korean users. In last year alone about 168 trillion won flowed out, and the trading fees Korean investors paid to use overseas exchanges are estimated at about 5 trillion won for that same year. A cumulative 2.4 trillion won has been deposited from wallets estimated to be Korean investors' into decentralised exchanges such as Hyperliquid, and last month's notional trading value alone reached 7.4 trillion won. The report analysed that if even 10 percent of the 5 trillion won in fees arising overseas were to arise domestically, it would translate into about 500 billion won in revenue.

Paired with 만 ('only'), as here, it builds the standard shape of a business scenario — a deliberately modest assumption whose result is still large.
