The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and the Ministry of Science and ICT have launched a pilot of the app '알뜰하게 장볼지도', which shows the prices of fresh farm and livestock products at nearby shops based on the user's location. A ceremony was held in Cheongju on 21 September. The app starts in five areas first: Suwon in Gyeonggi, Wonju in Gangwon, Cheongju in North Chungcheong, Jeonju in North Jeolla and Changwon in South Gyeongsang. It carries prices and discount-event information so that shoppers can check and compare prices easily, and it also offers services linked to AI chat, such as recipes and recommended places to buy. The app was developed as part of the Ministry of Science and ICT's 'ten AI projects for everyday life'. After improving convenience features through this pilot, the government plans to expand the service nationwide in the second half of next year.
