한국형 발사체 누리호가 10월 7일에 다섯 번째 발사에 나섭니다. 우주항공청이 8월 27일 발사관리위원회를 열고 이 날짜를 정했습니다. 발사 시간은 낮 12시 23분부터 오후 1시 23분 사이입니다. 날씨 등 돌발 상황에 대비한 예비 기간은 10월 8일부터 14일까지입니다. 이번에는 초소형군집위성 5기와 큐브위성 10기, 모두 15기의 위성을 싣습니다. 누리호가 한 번에 15기를 싣는 것은 지금까지 가장 많은 수입니다.

Translation

Korea's launch vehicle 누리호 sets out on its fifth launch on October 7. The 우주항공청 fixed the date at a launch management committee meeting on August 27. The launch window is between 12:23 p.m. and 1:23 p.m. The backup period, in case of weather or other problems, is from October 8 to 14. This time it carries 15 satellites in all: five small cluster satellites and ten cube satellites. Fifteen is the most satellites 누리호 has ever carried on a single launch.

Grammar points

N에 나서다to set out on N, to embark on N

나서다 literally means to step forward, and with a noun plus 에 it means to set about doing that thing: 발사에 나서다 is to go ahead with a launch, 조사에 나서다 is to launch an investigation. It gives the action a sense of a deliberate start, which is why news headlines use it for anything a body is about to undertake. The plain verb 발사하다 would state the same fact without that sense of setting out.

N부터 N 사이between N and N

부터 marks the start of a span and 사이 (between) closes it, so 12시 23분부터 오후 1시 23분 사이 is between 12:23 and 1:23 p.m. Compared with 부터 ... 까지, which describes the whole span, 사이 stresses that something will happen at one moment inside it. That is exactly the meaning of a launch window: the rocket lifts off at some point in that hour, not for the whole hour.
