Translation
대한상공회의소 and '미래를 선택하는 회의', a Japanese research body on population issues, released the results of the '한일 청년 의식 조사 2026' on August 30. The survey was conducted online from June 29 to July 3 in Korea and from July 6 to 8 in Japan, covering 2,000 people aged 20 to 39 in each country, 4,000 in all. Among unmarried respondents, 67.8% in Korea and 78.5% in Japan said they were not seeing anyone, so the figure was higher in Japan. Yet among young Koreans, 8.6% said they wanted to marry right away, 37.1% said they would marry if they met the right person and 35.7% said they would like to marry some day, adding up to 81.4% who intend to marry. By contrast, 18.6% in Korea and 42.4% in Japan said they had no intention of ever marrying. Asked whether they or their generation could make their country's future brighter, 34.7% in Korea and 19.8% in Japan answered positively, a gap of 14.9 percentage points.

Grammar points
N씩each, apiece, per unit
씩 attaches to a counted amount and spreads it over each member of a group: 2,000명씩 means 2,000 people in each country, not 2,000 in total. Dropping it would halve the survey, which is why statistics writing keeps it. The same particle covers 하루에 한 번씩 (once a day each) and 조금씩 (little by little).
Example: 조사는 한국에서 6월 29일부터 7월 3일까지, 일본에서 7월 6일부터 8일까지 양국 20~39세 청년 2,000명씩 모두 4,000명을 대상으로 온라인으로 진행됐습니다.

N 가운데among N
가운데 after a noun fixes the group a figure is drawn from, and in survey writing it is what makes a percentage readable: 미혼 응답자 가운데 67.8% counts only unmarried respondents, not everyone surveyed. Drop the phrase and the same number silently describes a different, larger group, which is the most common way a statistic gets misreported.
Example: 미혼 응답자 가운데 교제 중인 이성이 없다고 답한 비율은 한국 67.8%, 일본 78.5%로 일본이 더 높았습니다.
Among unmarried respondents, 67.8% in Korea and 78.5% in Japan said they were not seeing anyone, so the figure was higher in Japan.
N포인트percentage point(s)
%포인트 is the arithmetic gap between two percentages, and Korean news keeps it distinct from % on purpose. Korea's 34.7% against Japan's 19.8% is a gap of 14.9%포인트; calling it 14.9% would say Korea's figure was that much larger in relative terms, which would be a different and much smaller claim. The short form %p appears just as often.
Example: 자신 또는 자신의 세대가 나라의 미래를 밝게 만들 수 있다고 긍정적으로 답한 비율은 한국 34.7%, 일본 19.8%로 한국이 14.9%포인트 높았습니다.
Asked whether they or their generation could make their country's future brighter, 34.7% in Korea and 19.8% in Japan answered positively, a gap of 14.9 percentage points.
