Average spending on one date was 90,800 won for men and 64,000 won for women, so men spent about 27,000 won more. On how the cost is split, 25.6% said the man pays 70% and 18.1% said he pays 60%, while only 5.8% said the woman pays more or pays for everything. In a separate survey of 1,485 members in their twenties and thirties by 엔라이즈, which runs the dating app 위피, about 70% of respondents said the burden of dating costs had grown over the past year or two. More than half of both men and women said they actually spend 50,000 to 100,000 won on a single date, but they named 30,000 to 50,000 won as the amount they could manage comfortably, leaving a gap of about two times between what they spend and what feels affordable.

These two verbs carry the writer's reading of a number. 달하다 says a figure climbed as far as that mark; 그치다 says it got no further, so 5.8%에 그쳤습니다 means the share is being presented as small. Neither is neutral, and swapping one for the other changes how the same percentage lands, which is why they are worth spotting rather than skimming.

-지만but, although
-지만 attaches to the verb ending of the first clause and turns it into a concession: what follows runs against it. The sentence here needs it because the two figures come from the same people, who spend one amount and call a smaller one comfortable. Written Korean often prefers -지만 to starting a fresh sentence with 그러나, since it keeps both halves of a contradiction in one breath.
