서울 리움미술관에서 구정아 작가의 개인전 ’구정아: 우스모스’가 열리고 있습니다. 구정아는 2024년 베니스비엔날레 한국관 대표작가였고, 이번 전시는 1990년대 초기작부터 신작까지 30여 년의 작업을 35점으로 보여 줍니다. 전시 제목의 ’우스모스’는 작가가 만든 말 ’우스(OUSSS)’와 우주를 뜻하는 ’코스모스’를 합친 것으로, 하나의 뜻으로 고정되지 않습니다. 작품은 로비와 전시실뿐 아니라 창밖 옹벽까지 흩어져 있는데, 옹벽의 돌 틈에는 크리스털 50개가 심어져 있습니다. 스테인리스스틸로 만든 신작 ’모비우스’는 가까이서 보면 뒤틀린 터널 같지만, 위층에서 내려다보면 무한대 기호(∞)가 드러납니다. 작가는 작가의 비전을 관람객에게 강요할 수 없다고 말했고, 전시는 12월 27일까지 이어집니다.
Translation
A solo exhibition by the artist 구정아, '구정아: 우스모스', is on at Leeum Museum of Art in Seoul. 구정아 represented Korea at the Korean Pavilion of the 2024 Venice Biennale, and this show presents 35 works spanning more than 30 years, from early pieces of the 1990s to new ones. The word 우스모스 in the title joins 우스 (OUSSS), a word the artist invented, with 코스모스, meaning the universe, and it is not fixed to any single meaning. The works are scattered not only through the lobby and galleries but as far as the retaining wall outside the window, where 50 crystals have been set into the gaps between the stones. The new stainless-steel work '모비우스' looks like a twisted tunnel from up close, but seen from the floor above it reveals an infinity sign (∞). The artist said that an artist's vision cannot be forced on the viewer, and the exhibition runs until 27 December.

N뿐 아니라 (or 뿐만 아니라) adds a second, usually more surprising, item to the first. The second half often carries 까지 or 도 to mark how far the list stretches: 전시실뿐 아니라 창밖 옹벽까지, 'not only the galleries but even the wall outside'.

-지만but, although
-지만 sets two clauses against each other. Here it carries the whole point of the sculpture: what you see from one place (a twisted tunnel) against what you see from another (an infinity sign). It attaches directly to the stem: 같다 → 같지만.
Example: 가까이서 보면 뒤틀린 터널 같지만, 위층에서 내려다보면 무한대 기호가 드러납니다.

-는데 ends a clause that sets the scene for the next one. 흩어져 있는데 옹벽에는 ... says 'they are scattered about, and (as for) the wall ...', leading the reader from the general fact to the specific detail. It is softer than 그리고 and does not need a new sentence.
Example: 작품은 창밖 옹벽까지 흩어져 있는데, 옹벽의 돌 틈에는 크리스털 50개가 심어져 있습니다.
The works are scattered as far as the wall outside, and in the gaps between its stones 50 crystals have been set.
