하회탈의 고향 안동에서 2026 안동국제탈춤페스티벌이 10월 4일까지 열립니다. 개막식은 9월 25일 중앙선1942안동역에서 열렸고, 축제는 원도심과 탈춤공원, 하회마을 일원에서 이어집니다. 올해 축제는 문화체육관광부의 글로벌 축제로 선정된 이후 처음 열리는 것으로, 주제는 ’가면의 기억, 모두의 춤’입니다. 국내 전통탈춤 17개 단체와 해외 23개국의 27개 공연팀이 참가하며, 주빈국은 말레이시아입니다. 새로 마련된 ’마스크 아뜰리에’에서는 외국인 관광객이 자신만의 탈을 직접 만들 수 있습니다. ’글로벌 마스크 댄스 챌린지’에서는 시민과 관광객 누구나 탈을 쓰고 무작위로 재생되는 K-팝 음악에 맞춰 춤을 춥니다.
Translation
The 2026 Andong International Mask Dance Festival is being held until 4 October in Andong, the home of the Hahoe mask. The opening ceremony took place on 25 September at Jungangseon 1942 Andong Station, and the festival continues across the old city centre, Talchum Park and the area around Hahoe Village. This is the first time the festival has been held since it was selected as a global festival by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and this year's theme is 'Memories of the Mask, a Dance for All'. Seventeen traditional Korean mask dance groups and 27 performing teams from 23 countries are taking part, and the guest country of honour is Malaysia. At the newly created 'Mask Atelier', foreign visitors can make masks of their very own. In the 'Global Mask Dance Challenge', anyone, residents and visitors alike, can put on a mask and dance to K-pop songs played at random.
