서울시에 따르면 9월 15일 모기활동지수는 44.3으로, 이틀 전인 13일의 33.4보다 10가량 올랐습니다. 이에 따라 모기 발생 단계는 2단계 ’관심(상)’으로 올라갔고, 창문과 문에 방충망을 쓰고 늦은 시간에 창문을 여는 환기는 자제하라는 권고가 나왔습니다. 한여름에는 잘 보이지 않던 모기가 더위가 꺾이자 다시 늘어난 것입니다. 질병관리청의 감시 결과를 보면 8월 17~23일(34주차) 평균 전체모기지수는 53개체였는데, 바로 다음 주인 35주차에는 100.9개체까지 늘었습니다. 기상청에 따르면 올해 여름철 전국 평균기온은 25.4도로 평년보다 1.7도 높았습니다. 질병관리청에 따르면 국내 일본뇌염 환자는 대부분 8~11월에 생기고, 그중 약 80%가 9~10월에 몰립니다.
Translation
According to the Seoul Metropolitan Government, the mosquito activity index on 15 September was 44.3, up about 10 from 33.4 two days earlier on the 13th. As a result the mosquito alert level rose to stage 2, 'caution (high)', and the advice is to use screens on windows and doors and to avoid airing rooms by opening windows late at night. Mosquitoes that were hardly seen in midsummer have increased again now that the heat has broken. Surveillance by the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency shows the average total mosquito index was 53 in week 34 (17-23 August) but jumped to 100.9 the very next week, week 35. According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, this summer's national average temperature was 25.4 degrees, 1.7 degrees above normal. The KDCA says most Japanese encephalitis cases in Korea occur from August to November, and about 80% of them are concentrated in September and October.
