Grammar

-(으)로 풀이되다/분석되다

Meaning

Expert-(eu)ro puridoeda/bunseokdoeda

풀이하다 means to interpret, and 분석하다 means to analyse; their passive forms 풀이되다 and 분석되다 present that reading without naming who made it. Korean financial and political reporting uses them — alongside 보이다, 관측되다, 전망되다 — to mark a line as an interpretation rather than a confirmed fact. The cause or reading is packed into a noun phrase before 로, and a whole clause can be fed in through -(으)ㄴ/는 데 따른 것으로: 관광객이 늘어난 데 따른 것으로 분석됩니다, 'it is analysed as following from the fact that tourists increased'. Because both are hedges, they are out of place with figures that are simply true.

Form

The slot before the verb is a noun phrase plus 로/으로: 로 after a vowel or after ㄹ (결과로, 산불로), 으로 after any other consonant (영향으로, 결정으로). To feed in a whole clause, first nominalise it with -(으)ㄴ/는 것 (늘어난 것으로 분석됩니다) or with the longer -(으)ㄴ/는 데 따른 것으로, where -는 데 covers a present situation and -(으)ㄴ 데 a completed one (늘어나다 → 늘어난 데 따른 것으로). Note that 데 is a bound noun, so it is written with a space before it. Neither verb attaches directly to a verb ending, and in news the finished form is usually 풀이됩니다/분석됩니다 or 풀이된다/분석된다.

Examples

Common mistakes & nuance

The two verbs differ only in how the reading is framed: 풀이되다 presents it as a way of reading the situation, while 분석되다 presents it as the outcome of someone's analysis, which sounds a little more evidence-backed. Neither one says who did the interpreting, so do not add a subject like 기자는 in front of it — if you want to name the source, use -에 따르면 instead. Learners often write 늘어난 것으로 인해; that mixes two patterns, since 인해 gives a cause and 분석되다 needs 것으로 to hold the interpretation.
