Director Lee Chang-dong's new film 'Possible Love' (가능한 사랑) was shown for the first time at the 83rd Venice International Film Festival on 6 September, local time. After the screening, a standing ovation went on for six minutes. The film is the story of two couples: 호석, a laid-off worker, and his wife 미옥, and 예지, a documentary director, and her husband 상우. On the review site Rotten Tomatoes it holds a critics' score of 100 percent as of the 7th, and the Guardian gave it four out of five. The American outlet IndieWire called Jeon Do-yeon's performance a 'once-in-a-century' one. 'Possible Love' is one of 21 films competing for the Golden Lion, the festival's prize for best film, and the winners will be announced at the closing ceremony on the 12th.
