우주항공청의 ’2026년도 월력요항’에 따르면 올해 추석 연휴는 9월 24일부터 26일까지 사흘이고, 일요일까지 이어져 실제 쉬는 날은 나흘입니다. 지난해에는 10월 5일부터 7일까지의 추석 연휴가 개천절·대체공휴일·한글날과 이어져 10일에 휴가를 쓰면 최장 10일을 쉴 수 있었지만, 올해 추석 연휴는 토요일과 겹쳐 규정상 대체공휴일이 생기지 않습니다. 호텔스닷컴의 검색 데이터와 호텔 에티켓 설문조사에 따르면 이번 연휴 기간에 검색된 전체 숙박 일수 가운데 2~3박 일정의 비중이 약 60%로, 연휴가 최장 10일이었던 지난해(약 50%)보다 10%포인트가량 높아졌습니다. 평균 숙박 기간은 해외여행 2.5박, 국내여행 1.8박 수준이었고, 검색 상위 10곳 가운데 8곳이 일본과 국내 여행지였습니다. 1위는 도쿄였고, 그 뒤는 제주·후쿠오카·오사카·강원 순이었습니다. 숙소는 4·5성급 호텔이 전체 검색 숙박 일수의 60% 이상을 차지했고, 그중 4성급만 43%에 달했습니다.

According to the 2026 calendar notice (월력요항) issued by the Korea AeroSpace Administration (우주항공청), this year's 추석 holiday runs for three days, from 24 to 26 September, and with the Sunday that follows the actual break is four days. Last year the 추석 holiday of 5 to 7 October joined up with National Foundation Day, a substitute holiday and Hangeul Day, so that taking one day of leave on the 10th gave a break of up to ten days; this year's 추석 holiday falls on a Saturday, so under the rules no substitute holiday arises. According to search data and a hotel-etiquette survey from Hotels.com, two- and three-night itineraries make up about 60 percent of all the nights searched for this holiday period, about 10 percentage points higher than last year (about 50 percent), when the holiday ran up to ten days. The average stay was around 2.5 nights for trips abroad and 1.8 nights for domestic trips, and eight of the ten most-searched destinations were in Japan or Korea. Tokyo was first, followed by 제주, Fukuoka, Osaka and 강원. For accommodation, four- and five-star hotels accounted for more than 60 percent of all the nights searched, and four-star hotels alone came to 43 percent.

가운데 after a noun names the group a figure is taken from, and it is the written equivalent of 중에서. 상위 10곳 가운데 8곳 is eight out of the top ten. In statistics reporting it fixes the denominator, so read the noun before 가운데 first: 전체 숙박 일수 가운데 tells you the 60 percent is a share of nights, not of travellers.

N포인트N percentage points (a difference between two percentages)
포인트 after a percentage measures the gap between two percentages, not a percentage of something. From about 50 percent to about 60 percent is a rise of 10 percentage points, 10%포인트, even though 60 is 20 percent more than 50. Korean papers write %p or 포인트; if you read it as a plain percent you get the size of the change wrong.
