8월 5일부터 10일까지 서울 인사동에서 ’제7회 아리랑미술제’가 열립니다. 이 미술제는 올해로 일곱 번째입니다. 이번 미술제에서는 작가 50여 명이 작품을 보여 줍니다. 전시는 무료여서 돈을 내지 않고 볼 수 있습니다.

From August 5 to the 10th, the 7th Arirang Art Festival will be held in Insadong, Seoul. This year marks the seventh edition of the festival. At this year's festival, more than 50 artists will show their works. The exhibition is free, so you can see it without paying.

-부터 -까지from … to …

-부터 marks the starting point and -까지 marks the end point. It works for both time (8월 5일부터 10일까지 = from August 5 to the 10th) and place. The two often appear as a pair, but each one can also be used alone.

Example: 박물관은 월요일부터 금요일까지 문을 엽니다.

The museum is open from Monday to Friday.

-아서/어서 (명사 + 이어서/여서)because; so

-아서/어서 gives the reason for what follows. After a noun with 이다 it becomes 이어서 (after a consonant) or 여서 (after a vowel): 무료여서 = "because it is free". The reason comes first, the result second.

Example: 오늘은 주말이어서 가게에 사람이 많습니다.

Today is the weekend, so there are a lot of people in the shop.

-(으)ㄹ 수 있습니다can; be able to

Attach -을 수 있습니다 to a verb stem ending in a consonant and -ㄹ 수 있습니다 to one ending in a vowel. It says that something is possible or allowed. The opposite is -(으)ㄹ 수 없습니다.

Example: 학생들은 도서관에서 책을 빌릴 수 있습니다.

Students can borrow books at the library.
